About ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

The Bohemian Rhapsody song was very commercially successful, staying at the top of the UK Singles Chart for nine weeks and selling more than one million copies at the end of January 1976. The song reached number one again in 1991 for five weeks when the same song was re-released, and eventually became the third best-selling single of all time in the United Kingdom.

This song is also the only song that reached the number one Christmas song twice by the same artist. This song topped the charts in several other countries as well, including New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, Australia and the Netherlands, making it one of the best-selling singles of all time.

In the United States, the song initially peaked at number 9 in 1976. Then, returned to the charts at number two in 1992 after Freddie Mercury died in 1991, as well as his appearance in the film Wayne’s World, which restored his popularity in the United States.

Although the critic’s reaction was initially somewhat diverse, “Bohemian Rhapsody” remains one of Queen’s most popular songs and is often placed on the list of the best modern songs of all time. The single is accompanied by a promotional video, which many experts consider to be a breakthrough.

Rolling Stone Magazine states: “the influence of this song is huge, it has practically created a music video seven years before MTV aired.” In 2004, “Bohemian Rhapsody” entered the Grammy Hall of Fame. In 2012, the song topped the ITV national poll list in the UK as “The Number One Favorite Song of the Nation” throughout more than 60 years of British music history.
