General Instructions

    1. Exit all running applications.

    2. If using a floppy disk, eject it.

    3. If the operating system is Windows 2000 or Windows XP (Professional only), logon as administrator.

Install Olympus DSS Player Pro

    1. Insert the Olympus DSS Player CD into the CD drive and the installation program starts automatically.

If the installation program does not start automatically, use Windows Explorer (Right click the Start button on the Windows task bar and click Explore), click on the CD-ROM drive, locate setup.exe, and double click on it to execute it.

    1. Click on the desired language to select it when the installation Language Selection dialog box displays or click Exit to stop the installation.

    1. The Olympus InstallShield Wizard progress bar information box displays and will close automatically on completion.

At any point during the installation, click Cancel to stop the installation.

Click < Back, if it is available, to return to the previous screen of the installation wizard.

    1. When the InstallSheild Wizard progress bar is complete, the Olympus DSS Player Pro installation splash screen displays.

    1. Click Next, when the Olympus DSS Player Pro Setup screen displays.

    1. Click Yes after reading the License Agreement.

    1. To register customer information:

      • Click in the User Name: text box and type a user name.

      • Press the tab key to place the insertion point in the Company Name: text box and type a company name.

      • Press the tab key to place the insertion point in the first Serial Number: text box and type the license ID number (serial number) which is printed on the license ID card included inside the recorder package.

      • Click Next.

    1. When the License ID confirmation message box displays, click Yes.

    1. Click All User Settings so that all users will have the same folder settings for saving audio files and click Next.

      • DS-3300

    1. If Adobe Acrobat Reader is not installed or it is not certain that it is installed on the computer, click the Install 'Adobe Acrobat Reader' checkbox to place a checkmark in it otherwise leave it blank and click Next.

    1. The Installing: message box displays the installation progress bar and when complete (100%), the message box closes, and the last screen of the installation wizard displays.

Install Olympus DSS Update Software

    1. Insert the Olympus DSS Player Pro 4.xx-4.85 CD into the CD-ROM drive.

    2. Double click My Computer.

    3. Double click on the CD-ROM drive to display the folders and files.

    4. Locate the appropriate setup.exe

      • DSS Player Pro 3 Update.exe

OR

      • DSS Player Pro 4.8.5 Update.exe (For our example, DSS Player Pro 4.8.5 Update.exe is used.)

    1. Double click on the appropriate .exe to execute it and display the first screen of the InstallShield Wizard.

    1. Click Next to begin the Setup.

    1. The Setup Status progress bar displays and when 100% is reached, the last screen of the Install Shield Wizard displays.

Change/Remove

Use Change/Remove to remove the previously installed program.

    1. Double-click My Computer.

    1. Click Olympus DSS Player Pro in the list, then click Change/Remove to display the Confirm Uninstall message box.
